Cosmetic dentistry
Healthy teeth can be beautiful too: we whiten them in a controlled way and correct shape and colour with veneers or tooth-coloured composite. You decide what should change, and we work as conservatively as possible.
Why good cosmetic dentistry begins with healthy teeth
The wish for a beautiful smile is as individual as your face. Some people are bothered by discolouration, others by a chipped edge, a small gap or the shape of individual teeth. We take this wish seriously, yet we always begin the same way: with an examination. Because beautiful results only last when teeth and gums are healthy.
Often a professional dental cleaning and controlled whitening are enough to make a visible difference. For everything beyond that, together we choose the treatment that matches your goal: composite bonding for small corrections, veneers for larger changes. And if it is the position of the teeth themselves that bothers you, treatment with invisible aligners is often the most conservative route. That way, as much of your own tooth structure as possible is preserved. What counts in the end is that you are happy with your smile.
How we proceed
- 01 Consultation, analysis and preview
We start with your wishes and an examination of your teeth and gums. We analyse how colour, shape and proportions work in harmony with your face. For larger changes, for example with veneers, you first wear the planned result on a trial basis. That way you can see where things are heading before the final veneers are made.
- 02 The foundation: healthy, clean teeth
A beautiful result needs a healthy foundation. That is why we usually begin with a professional dental cleaning, which removes deposits and surface staining. On clean teeth we can also see reliably whether decay, a defective filling or inflamed gums need treating. Only then does the cosmetic treatment follow.
- 03 Controlled teeth whitening
We achieve whiter teeth with professional whitening at the practice or with a custom-made tray for use at home. Both routes have been shown to deliver comparable results. We generally recommend in-practice whitening with cold light, because this can best be tailored to your individual situation. In the EU, whitening at professional strength is deliberately reserved for the dentist. After whitening, your teeth may be sensitive for a few days, in which case a toothpaste for sensitive teeth can help, or a mild painkiller for a short time.
- 04 Bonding and veneers
We often correct chipped edges, narrow gaps or small differences in shape directly with composite bonding: we apply tooth-coloured composite with no or only minimal preparation of the tooth and shape it in place. For larger changes, our specialist dental laboratories make thin ceramic veneers, which are permanently attached to the front surfaces of the teeth. What is right for you is a decision we take together, weighing up your goal, the work involved and how long it lasts.
Good to know
Whitening only works on your own teeth. Fillings, crowns and veneers do not lighten along with them, and their difference in colour can even become more visible after the treatment. That is why we plan whitening first and then wait about two weeks before starting on any new visible restorations. How much lighter a tooth becomes varies from person to person, and exact shades cannot be predicted. The result lasts from several months to a few years, depending on how much coffee, tea or red wine you drink and whether you smoke. A top-up is straightforward. After whitening, white enamel spots can stand out more at first. A single dark, root-treated tooth can often be lightened from the inside in a targeted way.
Ceramic veneers are well researched: around 9 out of 10 are still firmly in place after ten years. The most common complication is a chipped corner, and that can usually be repaired easily. For a veneer, the tooth needs only minimal preparation, and in selected cases none at all. Prepared enamel does not grow back, which is why we take time to discuss this step with you beforehand. If you grind your teeth at night, an occlusal splint protects your veneers.
If your teeth are markedly misaligned, veneers are not automatically the best route. Treatment with invisible aligners straightens your own teeth, usually without any preparation at all. Afterwards there is often little left to correct, sometimes nothing at all. We will tell you which route is the most conservative for your goal. And if a tooth is badly broken down, a veneer can no longer help: then a crown protects it.

More treatments
-
Digital dentistry
Examine thoroughly, plan precisely, deliver digitally: from the first diagnosis to the finished restoration, we work digitally throughout. This makes treatments more accurate, more comfortable and more predictable.
-
Professional dental cleaning and preventive care
Healthy teeth begin with good prevention. Professional dental cleanings as part of a personalised preventive care plan remove plaque, tartar and discolouration before problems arise.
-
Periodontics and gum health
Bleeding gums are a warning sign. We treat gingivitis and periodontitis with modern periodontal therapies to preserve your teeth and jawbone.
-
Conservative dentistry: fillings, inlays and onlays
Your own tooth is the best tooth there is. We take the least invasive approach to tooth decay and minor damage, using fillings in the natural colour of your tooth, and restore larger defects with precisely fitted ceramic inlays and onlays. This way, as much healthy tooth structure as possible is preserved.
-
Root canal treatment (endodontics)
An inflamed tooth nerve does not mean the end of the tooth. Wherever possible, we keep the living nerve. Where that is not possible, a root canal treatment removes the inflammation from inside the tooth, relieves the pain and saves the tooth from extraction.
-
Orthodontics and invisible aligners
We correct tooth position and bite with treatments tailored to each patient: from traditional braces to invisible aligners, for children, teenagers and adults.
-
Dental crowns and partial crowns
Even a badly damaged tooth can usually be saved. A crown or partial crown restores its shape, stability and chewing function. That way you keep your own tooth.
-
Tooth extraction and wisdom teeth
Sometimes a tooth extraction is the right treatment: when a tooth can no longer be saved or is completely in the wrong position, or when a wisdom tooth is causing problems. In that case we remove the tooth gently under local anaesthetic and, where needed, plan the right tooth replacement before the procedure. That way no permanent gap remains after the extraction.
-
Dental implants and tooth replacement
The right answer for every gap: we replace a single missing tooth with an implant and a crown. If several teeth are missing, we close the gap with individual implants or an implant-supported bridge. And even for a jaw with no teeth left, we have fixed solutions that look good.

Cosmetic dentistry
Healthy teeth can be beautiful too: we whiten them in a controlled way and correct shape and colour with veneers or tooth-coloured composite. You decide what should change, and we work as conservatively as possible.
-
Children's dentistry
From the very first milk tooth: we support your child’s dental development with relaxed check-ups, fissure sealants and, where needed, gentle treatment of tooth decay.
-
Teeth grinding and TMJ disorders
Teeth grinding, jaw pain and clicking in the jaw joint rarely have a single cause. We examine the function of the joint and the muscles and check the teeth for signs of grinding and clenching. A custom-fitted occlusal splint is often used, combined where needed with physiotherapy and other specialities.
-
Snoring and sleep apnoea treatment
In many cases, snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea can be treated at the dental practice: with a custom-fitted splint that you wear at night.
-
Nervous patients
Time, clear arrangements and an agreed stop signal: gentle dentistry for everyone who finds visiting the dentist difficult.
